Hi, I'm Danica Lapid. For this pattern styling post, I wanted to show you all how I decided to style my version of the midi skirt ROMA. I used a cream Italian denim from a local fabric store in my hometown of Houston, TX. I love the classic and clean look of a white denim skirt, but using this pattern, I believe that the skirt can be worn year round in a variety of settings! It’s the perfect elevated basic, and can easily be a part of any capsule wardrobe.
DAYTIME CASUAL
Here I've paired my midi skirt ROMA with a patterned denim popover shirt and slip-on Keds sneakers, creating an easy look for running errands or grabbing lunch with friends.
SUMMERTIME DATE NIGHT
I love mixing patterns, and having a solid colored skirt brings the entire look together with a floral Ogden Cami from True Bias patterns and cheetah print block heel sandals. The slit in the is such a cute feature and adds to the romance of the whole outfit!
OUTDOOR BRUNCH
Pairing this breezy Willamette Shirt from Hey June Handmade gently tucked into the midi skirt ROMA makes for a casual brunch outfit, especially when worn with espadrille wedges! A loose silhouette on top with the straight line of the skirt adds even more interest to the look.
EASING INTO FALL
I love turtlenecks! This skirt is the perfect length for transitioning into cooler temperatures, as well. Throw on a heavier jacket or blazer, and switch out the heels for booties and you can certainly keep reaching for this skirt as it gets colder outside.
BUSINESS CASUAL WORKWEAR
Personally, I think the midi skirt ROMA could even work for the workplace, as long as you are mindful of the length of the slit in the hem when you are sewing! I’ve paired the skirt here with a silk blouse and low heels.
