ballet top + dress DELPY | fabric + styling inspiration | halfmoon ATELIER

(updated August 30, 2019)

The ballet top + dress DELPY was the second pattern I released way back in late 2017 (or early 2018? I can't remember). Up until my most recent pattern, DELPY was also my best selling pattern! It’s been exciting and heart warming to see all the beautiful DELPYs that have been shared on Instagram, and thrilling to know that I’m not the only one who loves the simple, unique features of this timeless design.

While not a new pattern in the halfmoon ATELIER line up, I wanted to update this page in case the pattern is new to you! (Please also note that I have not yet had the chance to improve the sizing for this pattern. Thank you for your patience!)

Before getting started with fabric options, it's sometimes fun to see what the pattern looks like on different body types, and to take a look around the web at similar styles to see what type of feel you'd like to create with your own DELPY.

I have made many DELPYs at this point in my life. Some have even been worn so much that they are past repair (generally due to stains). I go through phases of preferring one version over the other, but my dress (header photo) continues to be an absolute staple!

The ballet top + dress DELPY pattern is drafted for lighter weight woven fabrics, so I've stuck to that here in my fabric inspiration. However, you can easily make it in a knit by simply modifying your sizing. I generally recommend sizing down just one size if you choose a knit, but you may choose to size down further if your knit is particularly stretchy.

  • I’m so glad you asked, Karen! I do sell my patterns right here on my site. It seems I had accidentally changed something that hid them all a couple days ago. Sorry! They’re back up and all available for purchase and instant download again:)

  • Hello, I love your patterns and your approach to living. I wonder if you sell your patterns only. For some reason, I couldn’t find them. I find that shipping from the US with the Canada/US exchange rate differential quite costly. I also couldn’t find the shipping costs. Must be me, I’m thinking. Thanks so very much.
